Steve Ellis (bass)

Born and raised in Panama City, FL. of musical parents (Dad was a jazz drummer, Mom a singer/choir director), Steve is largely a self-taught bass player with influences from the Beatles to Yes to Jaco.
He moved to Texas in the mid-70's and has played with groups like Broadway South, Mending Wall, Scott McGill band, Tony Castie and The BluesKings, Percy Sledge, The Heartbeat Band and various others including several church bands.
He also is a free-lance recording engineer, having recorded dozens of CDs for local artists and organizations including Community Church and even forensic audio work for the Beaumont, TX Police dept.!
With Toast and Jam, Steve has found what he likes...talented musicians and musical variety!
